  1. Crysania, I was just talking to a friend on facebook about that. NOAA is calling for 5 – 10 inches now. I think earlier it was 3 – 5.

Some warmups for the days ahead but a good part of the nights are still below freezing. I think we are far from done yet.

  2. Anon, no doubt it's been winter from DeCember until now. Thanks for the great stats. I love stats 🙂

  3. Looking like we could be making a play for #5 if we get that 7+ inches they're calling for!

  4. Some interesting ROC stats just posted….

    DECEMBER THROUGH FEBRUARY (METEOROLOGICAL WINTER)
OVERALL MEAN TEMPERATURE: 24.2 (-2.1) DEGREES
    SNOWFALL: 111.5" (+41.6)
DAYS WITH MEASURABLE SNOW: 64 (+18)
    DAYS WITH SNOWCOVER: 85 (+25)

My favorite is the 85 out of 90 days of snowcover. Very little rain and grass this winter!

  5. I agree Patrick! I don't want days and days of 3-5 inches of snow. Just dump it all on us so we can complain about the snowpocalypse like the rest of the country, and brag about our over 200 inch mark and then let the spring sun melt it all!

  6. Crysania, you were dead on with the #9 As to the "A part of me wants to stay there and a part of me just wants to take #1. lol" I'm the same way. I'm ready for the Spring weather but It's kind of like we made it this far let's break that 200 inch mark. Of course I think I would rather do it all in one shot. Maybe one or even two big storms and then lets move on to some nice weather :))

  7. Stephen, good info again as always and keep it coming. I love it when the GSB cities crack the top 10 😉

  8. And with the snow we got last night, we've probably at least moved up to #9.

A part of me wants to stay there and a part of me just wants to take #1. lol

  9. Just took another look at the rankings, and Albany is about 8 inches away from cracking their top 10 list. So, they aren't too far away, it just so happens that many previous seasons were close as well!

  10. Yeah, me too. And, it's actually even lower than that. I used the 51-52 season as a cutoff. Albany's stats go way back to the 1800s, and I felt like for sake of comparison, it would be better to standardize the cities by going with the earliest season all 5 cities have available.

The other thing working against Albany, and all the GSB cities for that matter, is it's completed seasons versus the current one. So, given there is still a good month or 2 left, that would skew the season's ranking down a bit.

As each city gets closer to their respective top 10, I'll be posting those. I might also do something with the top 5 or so of each city as well. Kinda just depends on what happens from here to the end of the season. It would give me something to do in April though, haha!

  11. Thanks Stephen, knew ya would. I'll update the stats page in the next couple of days to bring it current again 😉

With the snow Albany has had this season I was surprised to see it's only their 19th snowiest on record.

  12. Yeah, I got those for ya!

  13. Hey, great stats Stephen. I was just going to look up to see where Da'Cuse sttod as far as top 10. Glad I came here first.

Do you have all of the cities seasonal snow totals hanging around for the last few seasons. I need to update the stats page. It would be:

    07 – 08
    08 – 09
    09 – 10

Thanks and if you don't I'll look them up 😉
