GoldenSnowball.com - A Fun New York Snow Contest
The Golden Snowball Award is a contest between 5 cities in CNY - Upstate New York. The snow contest is based on which city receives the most snowfall for the snow season. The cities that compete are Albany, Buffalo, Binghamton, Rochester and Syracuse. Last seasons Champion was Binghamton

Buffalo is very quietly closing in on a record that’s been on the books since 1899, that being the latest date to record the first measurable snow 1/10th of an inch or more the old record is Dec3, 1899 Buffalo might break that record this year! I wonder where the official recording spot was back in 1899 and if that spot has had snow yet? Just a guess but it was probably in a city park??
Some of us have been watching that in the Facebook snow group Kyle at https://www.facebook.com/groups/861746940543642/ It will be cool to see Buffalo break that record. Also a good question about where the snow was measured before the airport. Anyone else know, if not I’ll see if I can find out.
