Sorry about the lack of updates all but it tis the season and with family in town it’s going to be hit and miss. The snow stats for the 5 golden snowball cities have been updated and it’s still looking to be a good snow race this season.
Syracuse finally got off the bottom of the snow hill with 4.6 inches being reported so far for yesterday. I think the strangest thing about the snow stats for Syracuse was that they actually set a daily date record with only 4.6 inches on December 23rd that dated all the way back to 1953. You would think that this far into the snow season it would take more than that to break a record wouldn’t you?
Rochester is still hanging tough at the top but barely with Binghamton and Buffalo trying to close in. Albany is finally where they belong, at least for now.
I think the stats that stand out the most right now is that all of the GSB cities are behind last seasons stats and their normal stats for this time of the season. Syracuse is over 50 inches behind in snow compared to last year at this time with Rochester the only city staying close to normals. I’ll try and sneak another update in before Christmas and maybe update a few cities in the national snow race but if not:
Have A Safe and Merry Christmas Everyone
Where do you get your totals from???? No way Rochester has had 23.9 inches this year or month for that matter! You are just as bad as the stupid forecasters who make everyone panic for nothing. Snow advisory for a 24 hour period yet we only got 2 inches if that and now the sun is out.
Couple two tree fresh inches for us hear last night.
Patrick,
Merry Christmas to you and yours my friend, all the way up there from North Kakilacki. The snow machine is cranking up.
Cousins Pam and Mike
Merry Christmas Patrick!
Oh my God! Just this morning I realized… I FORGOT TO PUT OUT THE SNOW GOD this year.
I totally forgot. How could this have happened.
He is displeased with us in Syracuse now! Very displeased!!!
Hmmm…looks like you didn't update the "this time last year" column for Rochester.
By 12/18/08, Rochester had 23.2". But one year ago, 12/24, Rochester had a healthy 43.8 inches.
December 2008 was a good month!
