  1. Yeah, the wind has been pretty brutal here also. I just shoveled what we got overnight and the wind was blasting pretty good. I really need to invest in a pair of gloves before the winter is over 😉 It’s tough shoveling with one hand in my pocket and one on the shovel.

  2. Awww Snowman, I wasn’t rubbing anything in – that was just the best imitation of a Happy Dance emoticon I could come up with 🙂

I think that the lead is going to bounce around a *lot* before the contest is over… I just wish that we could get snow without all this below-freezing-windchill. I really don’t mind the cold, but these winds have been brutal over the past few days ~insert shivering emoticon here~ I want to be able to *enjoy* the snow, too!

  3. CK, The winds were blowing pretty good here most of the day. As for the Radar, I kept looking out the window to see if it was snowing because I thought the same as you. The radar looked like the edge was right over us. No such luck though.

  4. The media also misled me… News 10 Now had this report that basically made it sound like Hancock was barely staying open.. But I guess that was more blowing snow than falling snow. The radar made it look like it kept falling over the airport, but 2 inches isn’t exactly a lot!

  5. Oh sure Jill, rub it in when were down. I’d do the same thing ;p

CK, believe it or not that big white blob came south and hung out most of Monday. Unfortunately it didn’t come south enough though. Only 2 inches in the Syracuse area. As it was dropping down I thought for sure that DaCuse and Rochester were gonna make out good. On the west side I’m sure some Buffalonians were thinking the opposite hoping the their snow band that was to the south of the city would lift up north.

NYCO, hard to believe isn’t it? Then again one of the forum members mentioned a possibility of up to another 5 feet of snow falling before it’s over. 3 feet of snow is in my comfort zone I think. 7 – 10 feet might be an inch or two too much for me to ask for 😉 It is kind of depressing though and hard to comprehend that only 30 miles or so away is getting pounded and the sky’s are blue here.

  6. The lake effect band is only the biggest weather story in the country and once again, Syracuse is missing out as it goes to the north!! GRRRR!

  7. Something tells me Syracuse will be leading after the next update. And that something is the non-moving white field on the radar right now.

  8. Buffalo has added another 5 plus inches to their totals since the last update…

    😀 😀 😀

  9. Anon, my bad and thanks for catching that. I left out the wind chill in the blog. All fixed and thanks again.

  10. Temperatures in the Syracuse area did NOT fall to a frigid -10 to -20 degrees last night. Only the wind chill was around -20.
