For the first time since the 2004-2005 snow season Buffalo has gone over the 100 inch mark!
Hold off the ballons and party we have a snow contest to win here!
Buffalo was the big winner for the clipper last night with 1.5 inches. Bingo and Cuse picked up an even inch, Rochester picked up 9/10th’s and Albany continues to slack with a big old goose egg!
Buffalo is 1.0 inches out of 2nd and 7.9 inches out of 1st.
Rochester is 6.9 inches out of 1st.
Bingo and Albany… just forget about it!
This is turning into one heck of contest now and might come down to the last snow day to get our winner!!!
Looking at the snowfall potential comming forawrd:
1. This weekend remains uncertain! A major difference in model tracks of a storm this weekend leaves a big question mark. One model brings us a small burst of mixed precip while another model brings as much as a foot of snow into all of the competing cities. Gonna have to wait and see how this one pans out way to much uncertaintly right now… What else is new!?!?!?
2. A storm that has been on the models for some time now looks to head into the area Wednesday into Thursday. It’s still a back and forth jump between a wind and rain event and a major late season noreaster. I’m leaning towards the rain and wind event, but again… a storm to watch heading into next week.
3. A seasonal pattern with a clipper or two holds on through the end of March but commming towards the start of April some signs are poiting towards the end of winter and us finally entering into a spring trend!
The days are numbered now… LET’S GO BUFFALO!!!!
No it wouldn’t.
Well it just wouldn’t be a true St. Patrick’s Day or Easter in Upstate NY if there wasn’t snow on the ground, would it? 😉
Actually, St Ptty’s day and Easter might be washed out by the rain. I hope that’s not the case.
Oh and by the way, my Grandma might be visiting DaCuse this weekend to watch me play basketball. Let’s hope she doesn’t have a snow dance planed.
Lol to the scary part Tom. You better hope Grandma doesn’t visit here ;P
There could be snow on the ground for St. Pattys day and with Easter being so early this year that could be a good bet also.
That would be scary if my Grandma was dancing. But anyway,
I am hoping that there will be snow on the ground for the five major holodays durinng the December-March timeframe in DaCuse. The first three have already come and gone (all 3 had snow on the grund). Those three were XMas, New year’s, and Valentines day. The next one is St Patty’s Day, and the one after that (the last one) is Easter. So wih that in mind,
KEEP ON SNOWING CUSE!!!!!!
I’m honestly hoping for sunny and 50 come Saturday. After that let it snow 🙂 The last couple of years have been brutal downtown for the parade with the temps and wind.
Congrats to Buffalo for topping the 100 inch mark 🙂 Your right General, it looks like this one is going down to the wire which BTW is the last day in April.
Tom, I betcha Grandma is probably designing a snow dance right now for Buffalo. GO CUSE!!!
If Buffalo wins, that means I would have lost to my Grandma. So with that in mind,
GO CUSE!!!!!!!!
