  1. Anon from Wisconsin, Bring It On ;p I see that some snow is building up right now in parts of Wisconsin. What part of Wisconsin are you from? No doubt your in the right place for snow this season.

We have some snow in the forecast for tomorrow which should bring us pretty close to what Madison has right now which I think was 86.7 at last check. I’ll keep a little post going about the two cities totals when I post. I think the locals are only calling for a few inches here tomorrow but I’m thinking more when all is said and done.

  2. Mike, lets hope the white gold starts falling. I have good feeling about tonight although not much is expected either of our ways.

Anon and Anon, when I started keeping stats for the contest a few years back I though and still do think Utica would be awesome to have in the contest. I even mentioned it to one of the cities reps last year.

As the second Anon mentioned the stats would be a problem. Right now as far as I am aware there are no official NOAA stats or stations for the measurements. I know that WKTV in Utica http://www.wktv.com/weather/2002397.html posts some snow stats but again it’s not NOAA which would make it a hard sell to the cities. IMO I think Utica would make the contest more exciting.

  3. we should let utica, and elmira in on the contest, they are both rather large upstate cities; the only problem is nsowfall data. idk if they have it regualarly?

  4. Maybe Utica would give Syracuse a run for their money, last years total was almost 133 inches.

  5. patrick, unfortunetly ths clipper wont be anything special for our area, in fact it may not even hit da cuse 🙁 binghamton has the best chance for maybe an inch or two of snow on wednesday as the clipper will be passing south of us across PA(the center will be). however fridays storm is still looking good, ihope mother nature doesnt jip us again and end up giving us rain or sleet instead of white gold!!!

  6. Keep throwing out your predictions Mike. People enjoy reading them. I think it hit the mid 50’s over night. It was depressing to see the brwon and green showing again. What a difference a day makes in NYS.

Funny that you mentioned a clipper because I was just thinking this morning while I was typing that we really haven’t had any this year that I can remember. Maybe 1??? I think that is exactly what we need. One that sticks around a week or so 🙂

  7. i guess i underestimated the amount of snow that would melt due to the warm air; we have almost no snow left here, except back in the woods 🙁 . looks like snow showers all week, some from a clipper, some from lake effect. storm coming up on friday looks interesting at this early vantage point; according to the gfs model it gets binghamton with 5-8 inches of snow and syracuse with 3-5 inches; this is still way to early to take those numbers verbatum, im just throwing out there what the models are syaing right now
