IMPORTANT RULES EDITED – The rules are simple. Copy and paste the blank form below into the comment section of this blog entry if you already have a blogger username.
If not send an email with your predictions to comments@goldensnowball.com . The entry with the lowest overall (total of all cities) error percentage wins!
Edited – The contest closes on the end of November 15th.
The tie breakers will remain the same so any entry put in before the first snow fall of 1/10th of an inch or more will over ride any other ties.
Thanks for participating and GOOD LUCK!

General,
Indeed there is something you can do to help and anyone who else wants to help fight this pushed through legislation that never should have gone through. The tax bill better known as the Amazon tax because they and a few other big companies are suing NYS has been repealed by the NY senate but the bill sites right now in the ways and means committee doing absolutely nothing because it needs a sponsor from the NYS assembly.
Anyone can contact their assembly rep at http://assembly.state.ny.us/mem/ and ask then to sponsor the bill. The bill is S08638 and I’m going to blog about it shortly explaining it more 🙂
Good to see your still alive and posting Pat. As for the cutoff date, we could allow a reasonable amount of time after the first snow to submit the numbers. I know not everyone looks forward to the snow season as much as some of us do. We could give the stragglers who want to enter a few extra days or so.
Sucks your still having to deal with the whole internet tax issue, got to love NYS! Not sure what we can do for you, but if you ever need help let us know.
Patricia, I read your post about the fundraising and I will get in contact with you in the next couple of days. If I don’t email me at comments@goldensnowball.com .
Yup, Canada kicked some butt last year compared to us. The last season I think it was Syracuse was number 1 for total snowfall for cities over 100,000 in all of North America I believe.
I never finished checking out all of the cities for last year but I know there were a couple of cities/providences in Canada that had some good snow
BTW my roots on my mothers side are from Ottawa and I use to make quite a few trips there when I was a kid. Are the vinegar French fries still big there? The best I ever had 🙂
Lol General 🙂 The Oracle is still on summer/fall vacation still trying to fight the NY internet tax. I’ve been reading though and putting through the comment here *cough* *cough*
I like the contest and it should be fun. Perhaps we will have to come up with some kind of prize.
The only problem I have is with the cutoff date. A little too early in my opinion only for the fact that a lot of people don’t start coming here until we really get our first decent amount of snow.
Any suggestions to a later set date??? In other words I’m thinking if we leave it at the 1st 1/10 of an inch a lot of people might miss out. Just a thought!
That said I’m heading to NYC for a summit meeting next weekend and to San Diego the following weekend for a Think Tank meeting to do with my business. I’ll be seeing some of the merchants I deal with and maybe I can get some prizes donated to have a few contests this season that actually have real prizes instead of the nomal pat on the back and WTG prize, lmao!
thanks for everyone posting so far! it’s looking like everyone is going for an above average snowfall this year which is great!
i wonder where the great snow oracle is hiding? haven’t seen your preditions yet sir!
i finally made my october storm slide show video which will be posted on the blog wednesday. not really what i was going for but it still gets the point across.
I am out of state, but Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, would have won last year with an almost record for us of 167.99 inches.

Happy shovelling everyone,
Patricia
