  1. Good Point There ZR800,I Know They Are Doing A Great Job And Outstanding Job In Cleaning The Highways Quickly But You Didnt Get What Im Saying….Like If You Come Out From The Door You Are Stuck In 3feet Of Snow And My Snow Shoes Can Walk Into A Foot Of Snow But Not Three It Takes Me Minutes To Get Across Even Due To The Sidewalks Conditions The Buffalo Public Schools Were Closed Today Since Half Of The Students Are Walkers

You have to consider the fact that sometimes there is just too much snow for the plows to control where it goes. This is a matter of physics, not a personal decision. The primary reason for plowing is to open up roads for Emergency Personnel. We all would like to put the snow in a big field out of everyones way, but that also is usually not an option and there is a contractual aggreement that the road must be “passable” for emergency crews. Please keep that in mind while you are hating us, because I just spend 35 hours in a truck so that if you had an emergency, equipment would be able to get to you.

  3. patrick, its actually, kinda sad. the old flood stage when we had to start worrying about houses flooding was 14.3 feet; but after the june flood of last year most if not all the houses that would get flooded below 16 feet were wiped out/bought out by the govt. so seeing as the river only reached 14.2 feet i dont think any houses were affacted. as fro the weather the next several weeks, perhaps into early april should deffinetly be interesting….there is deffinetly a higher than normal chance for spring snowstorms, of course there is also the chance we get spring rainstoms…..

  4. Congrats to Buffalo!! I am mostly thrilled we didn’t get more than we did, although hate to give step down to 3rd.

New baby, travel for job, and then snowplowing killed me. I added it up and Wed night through last night a total of 10 hours of sleep for the four nights, and last night I only slept from midnight to 1AM! So completely exhausted I don’t think I could have handled any more plowing! In fact this weekend has convinced me to give up the whole gig after this season.

What a great race for metal at this point; it could be real fun and come down to the last snowflake for the gold!

  5. Patrick….

Im Hoping We Dont Have School Tommorow Because The Main Roads Are Great And In Good Shape But The Sidewalks Are Disaster ..Talk About Walking On 3 Feet Of Snow Because The Snow Plowers Move The Snow On The Main Road Then Dumped It Into The Sidewalks(I Hate Those Plowers!!) We Cant Even Drive Our Car It Is Buried Under 2 Feet Of Snow Even The Mayor Issuied A Travel Advisory For Buffalo Due To This Significant SnowStorm And Btw Did You Hear Anything About Southern Ontario… I Heard They Got Hit Pretty Hard That The Main Transportation Tool Was A Snow Mobile(About 7 Feet Of Snow Drifts)

Btw Is There Another Storm Possible Around St Patricks Day Because The General Was Talking About It Earlier This Morning

  6. Not too nervous yet General 😉 Ok maybe just a tad bit nervous. I’m really happy though that it’s close again. Umm, *cough* *cough* wasn’t someone talking about throwing in the towel not too long ago 🙂

Ayuud, I was able to see two of the pictures and it looks like there is a lot of fun to be had there. How are they doing with the roads there? Will they have them nice and clean for school tomorrow?

Mike, I was starting to think you might have gotten flooded out down there in Binghamton. I haven’t read about anything major as far as flooding goes. Hopefully that is the case. As for the image links I don’t know what Google’s problem is. I tried hot linking links and they still won’t work. If you highlight and copy the first link right down to the second one you might be able to grab the whole code.

I’m thinking about switching the blog over to word-press come next season 😉

  7. wow 21.3 inches in buffalo..i never would ahve guessed, the radar didnt look very impressive, ididnt think. also ayuuds links got cutoff i think, i cant get them to work??

  8. Feeling nervous yet Syracuse?!

Also going to note our next storm potential Saturday into Sunday. Still a ways out and even the models aren’t totally agreeing on a storm forming, but it bears watching. Actually looks to be a rather active 2 weeks comming up!
