binghamton snow

Binghamton was the first to report measurable snowfall this season starting out with just a couple of tenths of an inch of snow.  They are the only Golden Snowball city to have a couple of snowfalls this seson also.

Right now we have 3 of the 5 cities reporting snow which include Bingo, defending champs Rochester and Albany.  Yup Albany is ahead of Buffalo and Syracuse so far this season.  For some reason my fingers seem to stutter while typing the 3 words defending champs Rochester 🙂  I don’t know if it’s because up until last season the only winner since I started up the website was Syracuse or if it’s because I’m from Syracuse and I’m heart broken that the trophy most likely will be leaving the city of Syracuse very soon.  Most likely the second reason 😉

Some way, some how we will have to come up with a fun idea as to how the trophy should be handed over to the Mayor of Rochester.  More to come on that and you all will be the first to know.  We will also be posting our winter outlook forecasts pretty soon.  You know the unofficial ones that include the color of my mustach, caterpillars and so on so stay tuned for that.  I haven’t talked to Steven but if he is around this season I’m sure he has something up his coat sleeve too 🙂

Have an awesome week all.

Coming to you live from New York it’s the 2012 – 2013 Golden Snowball snow contest! Hello all, we hope you had an awesome summer. We sure did with plenty of poolside cocktails and soda pops to go with plenty of hot, hot days of sunshine. Now it’s just a memory of the past as the cold weather is upon us with the possibility of another storm coming up the coast.

Normally when I here storm I’m all in but because of the devastation from Hurricane Sandy and so many folks still without power I’m hoping this one passes by those on the East coast. I know I have several family members and friends who were and still are being affected by Hurricane Sandy. Most likely you do too. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of them.

Once again congrats to Rochester, last seasons champion 🙂 Who would have thought that around 60 inches of snow would win the Golden Snowball contest. Not us that’s for sure but they did and you can bet all of the other cities will be out to dethrone them and knock them off from being the king of the snow hill this season.

That’s about it for now but I’m sure it’s only a matter of days, maybe even hours before one of our great cities has snow to report and gets on the snow board. Any thoughts on who this seasons snow champion will be?
