  1. Tom, it looked like it was going to happen but fizzled out a bit (

ZR, some of the numbers were impressive to say the least. I know as of earlier today people were still without power. At least it looks like a little bit of warmer air will be coming. That’s great that you will get to spend some more time with the family now. A 50 hour day is definitely long enough to be away from the kids!

NYCO, Thanks for the GREAT read and I like the idea of a medal or something similar. I particularly like the idea of perhaps a kid or even an adult who helps out their neighbors during the winter months with snow removal. I’ll see if I can put something together for it. Thanks for the idea and article 😉

  2. Hey Patrick,

This article on the Hancock Field website, about the “Balchen/Post Award for Excellence in the Performance of Snow and Ice Control” (http://www.syrairport.org/about/hancockfield/Balchen.cfm) gave me an idea… wouldn’t it be cool if there was some sort of award or “Meritorious Snow Medal” every year for some deserving man or woman for their prowess at snow removal? Maybe a teenager who shovels driveways, or a plow operator, or a small business that keeps their grounds well kept.

  3. Hey all, just some unofficial impressive numbers in this morning.
    16″ Brantingham, NY
    20.5″ Big Moose, NY

Just a dusting at my house in Fairport. Nothing at my office by the Rochester Airport.

Pat- I gave up snow plowing at the end of last season. Once baby #2 came along it just became too much away from home combined with regular 50hr per week job and snowmobiling! I will be pushing a snowblower this year.
