Updated 7 PM 1/8 – Well that was a short lived stay at the top for Syracuse who managed to tie Buffalo when all was said and done yesterday. With the new snow that fell today Buffalo has managed to not only stay at the top but pus Syracuse off of the top of the snow hill that they both shared for less than 12 hours 😉
I don’t think Buffalo is done yet either looking at their forecast for the next couple of days. I have a feeling they will be adding to their snow totals and to the lead they have also. They are also slowing closing in on a few cities in the National snow contest over at The Golden Snow Globe where it’s also been pretty interesting and close. WTG Buffalo 😉

It’s a Tie! It’s been awhile since we have had a lead change and it looks like it’s going to be awhile longer. We have a two way tie for the top spot on the snow hill. Buffalo has held the lead for quite some time now but they are playing nice and decided to share the top spot for now with Syracuse.
The last update from the National Weather Service has both Buffalo and Syracuse reporting 34.0 inches of snow on the season so far. I’m sure this will change come the next update because I don’t think this includes any of the overnight snow and should be as of the end of yesterday, the 7th.
I’ll be getting another update in later and it will be interesting to see if Buffalo continues it’s run at the top or if Syracuse or any of the other cities can knock them down from the King of The Snow Hill spot on top. I think I’ll go with Buffalo keeping the lead and most likely just Buffalo. Stay Tuned 😉
Sure been a slow and steady race this year all the cities seem to be missing the big stuff. KBUF should have a fresh 2-3 inches from the band late this morning as well as adding another 3-6+ tomorrow with the next round.
I think Buffalo may be the city we will all be chasing this season General. The same has been happening to Syracuse so far with the snow either hanging north or going just east of Da’Cuse. I’m guessing with the warm weather Erie isn’t close to freezing over yet so advantage Buffalo IMO
