  1. Thanks for the headcount. Yes, Pammy knows them all. No snow yet here, we may go thru the winter without anything this year, we’ll see as the cold is due to show up this weekend. For us, typically the first 2 weeks in January are the high time for some snow and ice – couple cold days in early February then its all over! My lawn typically looks the best all year long by 3rd week in March. Hard to fathom isn’t it Snowman. ttyl, Cousin Mike.

    • Are you still cutiing the lawn? Haven’t had to cut the lawn or shovel here in Da’Cuse in months 🙂 OK, I will be shoveling today or tonight for the first time though.

      • Yeah, you know we’re paying attention to what the latest snow storm does to you guys. No lawn cutting since mid-December, but it does need something. I like to keep it longer until we get thru the dustings of snow we tend to get. Only a 2-3 week window left of us to get any winter weather. Loosen up your lower back and start weilding that shovel…

  2. Love the video. I recall the Blizzard of ’66 each time folks start talking about big snowfalls. I was living in the University area of Syracuse and was stranded at my parent’s home in Fayetteville for a week. Photos from Oswego were in Life magazine.

    • Thanks Brian. I think the closest to this storm in the Syracuse area at least was probably the Blizzard of 93. I was only 6 in 66 but it seemed like days before even the main raods were cleared. The 93 blizzard we were driving around the next morning.

  3. Great video – snow and all.. of course, while you identify yourself in the video, you know we’d like to know who else was hanging out Aunt May and Uncle Ed’s house during the storm. I’m sure identifying all the other individuals will/was surely be a brain-teaser for you. I’ll be looking forward to your response.
    Cousins Pam and Mike.

    • Pam should know all of us. Donna is the biggest one, Mike the other boy in a tan coat, Deb in the light blue and Sharon in the red coat. Then 3 neighbors from across the street, the Merrit’s.

Any snow where you’re at yet Mike and Pam?

  4. Ah, I remember that 1966 blizzard well. I was in junior high.
My father and I walked through the hip-deep snow a few blocks to a little Mom & Pop grocery (I think it was near Dudley & Fitch Streets). We needed milk and my father saw a jar of hot peppers in the little store and just had to have that, too.

    • Elaine, I think I remember the most was walking over fences, sliding down the roofs and crying because I was so small I wass always sinking in the snow that was way over my head 🙁

Luckily for us is that we also had a Mom and Pop store a block up the road at a friends house.
