First off as always a Big Thanks to John P for your recent donation to the site. I just noticed it and I think it was the first one of the summer. A Big Thanks John, I really Appreciate you taking the time. It helped out a lot during these slow summer months
Binghamton continues to lead our little rain contest between the Golden Snowball cities so far for 2015. Binghamton on average should be at the top but what I just noticed is last place Albany should be right at the top with them. Both of the cities average rainfall to date is 25.56 inches. It looks like Albany may follow their typical winter snowfall rank and come in last place. I’m sure the good folks in Albany don’t mind too much though.
Binghamton, Rochester and Syracuse New York all continue to be at least a few inches over what their average rain totals should be for this time in the year. Both Buffalo and Albany continue to be below their average rainfall to date with Buffalo only being 0.08 inches below normal. Pretty much a typical summer for those of you in Buffalo unlike the way the snow season started out last year. Below are how all of the cities are doing so far this year compared to an average year.
Binghamton – Plus 5.96
Syracuse – Plus 3.26
Rochester – Plus 4.15
Buffalo – Minus 0.08
Albany – Minus 2.42
